Best restaurants in Manila: where to eat in style

Discover the Manila restaurants worth dressing up for.

High-End Restaurants in Manila

Manila has become one of Southeast Asia's most interesting dining destinations. The city's best restaurants are spread mainly between Makati, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Pasay and the wider Metro Manila area, with everything from contemporary Filipino tasting menus to Japanese omakase, Mediterranean restaurants, steakhouses and sophisticated hotel dining. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner, entertaining clients or starting a VIP night in Manila, these are some of the restaurants we would put at the top of the list.

Helm – Makati

For a genuine destination dinner, Helm belongs near the top. Chef Josh Boutwood's intimate tasting-menu restaurant is currently the only two-Michelin-starred restaurant in the Philippines, making it one of Manila's most important culinary experiences.

helm manila restaurant

This isn't the place for a casual dinner before rushing to a nightclub. Come for the full experience: a creative multi-course menu, close interaction with the kitchen and a much more intimate atmosphere than a traditional luxury restaurant. Best for: serious food lovers, couples and special occasions.

Toyo Eatery – Makati

If you want to understand modern Filipino cuisine, Toyo should be on your Manila list. Chef Jordy Navarra takes familiar Filipino flavours, ingredients and traditions and reinterprets them through contemporary cooking without stripping away their identity.

toyo eatery restaurant

Tatler named Toyo Eatery its 2026 Restaurant of the Year, while also including it among the country's Best 20 Restaurants. It feels creative and distinctly Filipino rather than conventionally luxurious, which is exactly what makes it special. Best for: discovering high-end Filipino cuisine.

Gallery by Chele – BGC

Gallery by Chele is one of the strongest choices for visitors who want an ambitious tasting-menu experience in BGC. Chefs Chele González and Carlos Villaflor explore Philippine ingredients through modern techniques, working closely with local producers and turning native products into sophisticated contemporary dishes.

Tatler's 2026 guide named it Best Innovation and included it among its Best 20 Restaurants in the Philippines. The combination of research, presentation and Filipino ingredients makes Gallery very different from the international luxury restaurants found around BGC. Best for: tasting menus, foodies and special dinners.

Celera – Makati

One of the newer names worth knowing is Celera, a contemporary Asian restaurant from chefs Nicco Santos and Quenee Vilar. French and Asian techniques meet Southeast Asian flavours in dishes that are sophisticated without becoming predictable.

Celera was named Best New Restaurant in Tatler Best Philippines 2026 and is also included in the Michelin Guide's current Metro Manila selection. Best for: travellers looking for one of Manila's newer fine-dining experiences rather than the established classics.

Blackbird – Makati

Blackbird is a Manila classic and one of our favourites for combining setting, atmosphere and dinner. It occupies the historic former Nielson Tower at Ayala Triangle, giving the restaurant considerably more personality than a typical luxury dining room.

The menu has international influences, but Blackbird's real strength is versatility: date night, cocktails, business dinner or the beginning of a more glamorous evening all work here. Best for: stylish dinners and couples who care as much about atmosphere as food.

Finestra Italian Steakhouse – Solaire

Inside Solaire Resort, Finestra is the choice when you want something more traditionally luxurious: Italian cuisine, premium steaks, wine and polished service in a high-end resort environment.

finestra manila restaurant

It's particularly suitable for guests staying around Entertainment City who want to combine dinner with casinos, drinks or nightlife without crossing Manila afterwards. Best for: luxury dinners, steak lovers and celebrations.

Antonio's Manila

Antonio's is synonymous with special-occasion dining in the Philippines, and its Manila location brings that upscale experience into Metro Manila. This is somewhere to slow down, order properly and make dinner the centrepiece of the evening rather than simply the first stop.

antonios restaurant manila

Expect a sophisticated fine-dining environment and pricing to match. Best for: romantic dinners, celebrations and guests looking for a classic high-end restaurant experience.

Terraza Martinez – BGC

For something more social, Terraza Martinez at Shangri-La The Fort brings a Mediterranean-Spanish character to BGC. It's elegant without feeling overly formal, making it particularly useful for groups who want good food, wine and cocktails before continuing the night elsewhere.

terraza martinez manila restaurant

The location is also excellent if your evening is centred around BGC. Best for: groups, long dinners and dinner-before-nightlife plans.

Medusa at The Palace – BGC

This one belongs on Manila Tables for a different reason. Medusa is a supper club, so dinner is designed as part of the entertainment rather than as an isolated restaurant experience.

medusa manila restaurant

Tatler named Medusa Best Design Restaurant for 2026, highlighting its theatrical interiors, burgundy drapery, marble tables, dramatic central bar and maximalist aesthetic. For guests who want dinner to gradually become a night out, it's one of the most natural choices on this list. Best for: groups, birthdays, glamorous dinners and nightlife.

Where should you eat in Manila?

For the ultimate culinary experience, choose Helm. For modern Filipino cuisine, we'd go with Toyo Eatery or Gallery by Chele. Choose Blackbird for romance and atmosphere, Finestra for classic luxury, and Medusa when you want dinner to be the beginning of the party.
